MCCF Parents, Carers and Guardians are expected to:

Complete any form as requested by your participating team’s board and detail any health concerns relevant to the child on that form.

Any changes in the state of the child’s health should be reported to your identified Staff/Head of Tour asap, in writing prior to any coaching sessions or matches and ensure identified staff have up to date contact details for you and any alternative appointed persons.

Deliver and collect your child punctually on arrival and departure to and from the Festival.

Should there be the need to visit the RHS/MCCF Boarding House always ring your accompanying staff before arrival.

All players will need to be collected by a responsible adult from an agreed collection point And agreed by your team’s staff.

Parent/Guardians are responsible for transportation of their son/daughter to and from the Festival unless otherwise stated by the team management.

Ensure your child is properly and adequately attired for the Festival duration including all required equipment.

If you are unable to accompany your son/daughter at the Festival, you must nominate an appointed representative to oversee responsibility and confirm with your accompanying team’s staff management team, who can make decisions on your behalf in case of emergency and act as a chaperone. You must inform the team manager of the name of person prior to the pre-festival preparations.

Encourage your child to obey any rules set and play within the spirit of cricket. Behave responsibly as a spectator at the festival and treat cricketers, coaches, and parents of your and other teams with due respect.

Be supportive of the game and the officials and note that any forms of abuse will not be tolerated.

Ensure inappropriate language is not used within the environment.

Ensure your child’s needs are met in terms of nutritional.

Refrain from entering the boarding house, team tents, changing rooms and the field of play during match days and training at the Festival. Please note the separate toilet facilities for the young cricketers only.

Treat everyone equally and do not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, nationality, colour, parental or marital status, religious belief, class or social background, sexual preference or political belief.

Parents should be aware that posting messages, comments or any other media on a social networking site that breaches the above requirements of a parent at MCCF will breach the Parents’ Code of Conduct.

Ensure their child remains with the team for the duration of the match to ensure greater team spirit and aid their child’s cricket education.

In line with child protection guidelines, please gain permission from the Team Manager before using any video or camera equipment.

Follow ECB guidelines set out in the “Safe hands – cricketers’ policy for safeguarding children and any other related guidelines issued (the manual is available to view on ECB websites).

All positive support is welcome but please refrain from open criticism at a match or at training sessions, remembering that the young boys/girls are still inexperienced cricketers with much to learn. Open negative criticism can also lead to disaffection within the team and with parents alike and should be avoided at all times. Support the team as a whole, not just your son/daughter, and enjoy the experience of watching talented cricketers perform. Most of all help your child enjoy the sport and achieve to the best of their ability.

Disciplinary Procedure

MCCF will not tolerate any breach of this Code of Conduct, and failure to operate within the code could have a detrimental effect on a child’s selection for your team’s representation, or removal from MCCF activities.

Should there be a breach of the Code, MCCF will appoint a Disciplinary Panel to adjudicate and impose a sanction appropriate to the offence. Any allegations of a breach will be investigated prior to a Disciplinary Panel hearing. Parents will have the right of appeal against the decision.

Grievance Procedure

If a parent has any issues or concerns about their child’s involvement with the MCCF, a grievance procedure exists. In the first instance, parents should raise the issues or concerns informally with the accompanying Team’s Management.

Should this not resolve the matter, they should formally contact MCCF in writing via Don Topley/topperscricket@gmail.com who will investigate and reply in writing with a full response.
