2019 MCCF New Groundman

Welcome Will Parker (son of Tim Parker)

MCCF 2018 said goodbye to Mr Tim Parker (pictured) who was our contracted groundsman for many, many years. We think Tim contributed to over 15 MCCFs and we did thank Tim for his terrific hard work, dedication and his excellent standard of pitches prepared annually. Tim has been a fine club cricketer and groundsman at Woolpit Cricket Club, some 20 miles away and continues in that role.

The responsibility of MCCF groundsman will now fall not far from father,Tim, as his business partner and his son, Will, is to take over the important role for the 2019 festivals. Both Tim and Will are in business as ‘Parker Pitches’.

Parkers Pitches have years of excellent groundsmanship experience and have a passion for sports pitches: cricket, football and rugby.

28 year old, Will Parker said of his appointment “Myself and my company, Parkers Pitches, will be taking over the control of pitch preparation from my father Tim for the 20th Anniversary of MCCF.”

Will added, “My father has passed on as much of his knowledge of wicket preparation onto myself and with a lightly more modern approach I am hoping the wickets will be better than ever this year (weather depending of course!). I am really looking forward to being involved in the festivals again which I played at in 2002 and 2003 as a Suffolk young cricketer – I remember them well!”.

We look forward to welcoming Will in the week before the young cricketers arrive.
